DateinAsia is a dating site designed to connect you with Asian people, whether socially or romantically. Open to anyone from all walks of life (even to non-Asians), this site allows you to use all of its features inside without cost. As its tagline claims: "A completely free no-nonsense dating site," DateinAsia is very easy and accessible.

For the most part, the site can only rely on bots to moderate the site. It may be an indication of shorthandedness for running the site 100% free for everyone. In some areas, the bots have helped the site with better monitoring of member activities. However, doing this has caused some undesirable situations for its members.

These instances include erroneous suspension of accounts and slow profile approval. Others have reported extremely minimal site support, making the dating experience run a little less smooth. In that case, we dug deep and investigated every nook and cranny in the dating site just to see if these allegations are true or not.

Aside from being a dating site, it wants to be known as a social discovery site where you can find a friend and have fun with other people through its features.

How to Sign Up for DateinAsia

Make sure that you have a working phone number with you when you create an account with DateinAsia. After you have entered your basic details such as your desired username, password, email address, birthday, location, and gender, you will be asked for your mobile phone number for a verification process.

SMS Activation

You need to pass the SMS activation step by giving the site your number. After entering your number, the site will message you a six-digit code which you will need to enter before you can use your account.

Before you receive your six-digit code, you will already receive an email asking you to verify your email address. Even if you do this, you will not be able to use your account unless you provide the code.

This added security feature helps make sure that only real people enter the site. However, you will have to wait for at least two hours before you receive a code from their system.

Sending messages and other forms of communication feature is available to everyone for free. However, you cannot send messages unless you upload a profile photo and have it approved. You can still explore the site, read messages, and lurk in chat rooms, but you will not be able to reply.

Chat Rooms

You cannot add new chat room topics as there are only default topics inside. DateinAsia has strict rules when it comes to the chat rooms which they call the "Shout" page in-site. The basic rules include staying polite and friendly, but members are never allowed to use profanities, and other offensive and sexually-charged language or topics. It is also explicitly stated in the chat rooms to only use the English language. Despite the high Asian populace, no Asian language is allowed in chat rooms.

Unique feature: "48 hours stats"

DateinAsia will give you an overview of the things you did inside the site within the last 48 hours. It will tell you how many likes you have sent and received, the number of messages you sent and received, and the number of profiles you visited.

On the left side of these numbers are semi-circle bars which indicate if you are hitting your daily targets. The number of targets for each category is set by the site. The site explains that reaching these daily targets will help you find someone.

Face Detector

The site uses software to detect the faces that are in every photo you upload. It will not accept your photo if it does not clearly show your face, there are too many faces on the photo, or if your face is too small to be used in the site. Photo rejection can happen if your face only occupies a small percentage of the total photo, even if your photo is of high resolution and quality.

You must have at least one photo inside your profile. Not having a single photo will restrict you from contacting other people. You can still read and receive new messages, but you will not be able to reply. Likewise, you can still enter chat rooms but you will not be able to join the discussion.

The mobile site has all the exact same buttons and elements as the desktop version, only in a compact, mobile form. Accessing the mobile site is free, along with its functionality. You can send messages, edit your profile, participate in public chat rooms, and play the word game with other people using the mobile version.

Unlike the desktop version, you will find advertisements scattered throughout the site. There is no way to remove these ads since it is a free Asian dating site.

Many people are delighted to join DateinAsia at first because its features are entirely free. However, some still get disappointed after a while because of this very reason. Site support is extremely minimal and some have even reported that there is none. Issues such as false suspension, deletion, or temporary locking of accounts are reported. These issues may have come from the robot solely monitoring the activities inside the site. It seems like the robots are not very keen on analysing cases resorting to false decisions.
